Client onboarding is the process that every customer/client takes from the time they first meet your brand, through their first sale, and hopefully on to their repeat purchases. Think of it as a pathway from hello to hello again. It’s a huge part of a solid foundation!
Without a good client onboarding system, you can leave your customers feeling lost in a sea of offerings and you lost in a sea of paperwork! You’ve really got to take your customer by the hand these days! You must ask them questions and show them the products/services best fit for their needs. It is never a good idea to leave customers to their own devices. In doing so, they are happier because they got what they needed and you established a good relationship with them (which means a higher chance of them coming back for more).
Preparing a detailed client onboarding system saves you time because you’re not re-writing messages. It saves you money because you’re not paying your team for repeat work. Finally, it saves your sanity because you can bring on new clients without the hassle. Why? Because it will allow you to automate the majority of this process. In this case, gathering client information, tracking paperwork, making your clients feel welcome and knowing who to reach out to for what offerings.
